Entering powers of 10 with EXP, EE, or ×10ˣ.

Core idea

Scientific calculators commonly use EXP, EE, or ×10ˣ to enter a power of 10. [1, pp. 15–16]

For 4.7 × 10⁻⁶:

  1. enter 4.7
  2. press the exponent key
  3. enter -6

The exponent key already represents the ×10ⁿ part. Do not enter another ×10 first. [1, pp. 15–16]
