Licensing and Attribution
Technological Education Resources is an open-source teaching project. Different parts of the project use different licences.
Website code and executable materials
Original website code and executable materials are licensed under the GNU Affero General Public License, version 3 only (AGPL-3.0-only). This includes JavaScript, CSS, executable Quarto documents, scripts, tests, and build tooling.
The AGPL is a copyleft licence. In plain language, you may use, study, copy, and modify the website code. If you share that code—or run a modified version for other people over a network—you must make the corresponding source code available under the same AGPL 3.0 licence. This keeps improvements to the website code open for the next person too.
Educational content
Original educational text, articles, lessons, diagrams, and explanatory figures are licensed under Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC-BY-SA-4.0).
Share, adapt, and pass it on. You may share, copy, modify, remix, and redistribute the original educational material. If you share the original or a version you changed, you must keep the CC BY-SA 4.0 licence, identify that changes were made, and preserve attribution to Andrew Andrade, andrewandrade.ca, and github.com/mrandrewandrade.
Add your own name, website, repository, and links when you modify or adapt the work so future versions can credit your contribution too. Each version can credit the people who improved it while preserving the original attribution and share-alike licence. Because adaptations remain under the same licence, the work remains shareable and adaptable as it changes. Sharing is caring.

Data and third-party materials
Data releases use the licence stated with each release. Third-party code, fonts, screenshots, quotations, and other materials retain their original licences. See the repository’s third-party notices for details.
Identity and branding
The software and content licences do not grant rights to represent a fork or adaptation as an official Technological Education Resources site or as the work of Andrew Andrade. Adaptations should use their own identity when necessary and should not imply endorsement.
